Overview library

1. Climate goals and energy

The SCANDIC GROUP pursues ambitious climate goals. Our direct and indirect operational emissions (Scope 1 & 2) are expected to reach net zero by 2027. We define a reduction path for Scope 3 emissions by 2030/2035 and work closely with suppliers. We rely on renewable energy sources, energy-efficient systems and compensation measures only as a last option. For our data center and mobility-related businesses, we aim for a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) ≤1.25 and the use of 24/7 carbon-free energy. Progress is communicated transparently.

2. Data protection and information security

A high data protection and security standard is an integral part of our sustainability. The protection of personal data and the secure operation of our digital platforms strengthen the trust of our customers and partners. We use extensive technical and organizational measures and are guided by standards such as ISO 27001 and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Regular training and audits ensure continuous improvement.

3. Supply chain and human rights

Our supply chain must meet ethical and environmental requirements. We implement the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, check suppliers for modern slavery, child labor, working conditions and environmental impacts and prefer partners with recognized sustainability certificates. Risks are assessed, prevention measures implemented and progress monitored. We support initiatives for fair raw material extraction and sustainable transport logistics.

4. AI ethics and media ethics

As developers and users of AI-supported products, we are aware of our social responsibility. We adhere to our AI Ethics Statement and consider the impact on diversity, discrimination, data protection and transparency. Media content is created according to journalistic due diligence; Disinformation, hate speech and algorithmic amplification of extremist content are actively prevented. AI models are optimized for energy efficiency and resource utilization.

5. Governance and compliance

A strong governance structure forms the foundation of our sustainability strategy. The supervisory board and management bear responsibility for ESG issues; a sustainability committee coordinates measures and reporting. We comply with the requirements of CSRD/ESRS, IFRS S1/S2 and the GRI standards and have our reports audited externally. Compliance programs for anti-corruption, data protection, export controls and taxes are consistently implemented.

6. Environment and climate in the data center

Our high-performance data center works energy- and resource-efficiently: free cooling, hot water use, modular design, efficient hardware and real-time energy management reduce consumption. We prefer hardware with a long service life and recondition decommissioned devices. Waste heat is used to heat neighboring buildings. Water consumption is monitored and minimized. Life cycle analyzes help us to reduce environmental impacts along the entire value chain.

7. Employees and work culture

The SCANDIC GROUP promotes an inclusive, diverse and healthy work culture. We pay attention to fair remuneration, equal opportunities, company health promotion and flexible working models. Employees are trained in sustainability issues and included in decision-making processes. We support commitment to social projects and enable volunteer days. Diversity in teams and leadership contributes to innovation and resilience.

8. Stakeholder dialogue and social contribution

Transparent dialogue with our stakeholders – customers, employees, suppliers, investors and the public – is central. We regularly conduct surveys, stakeholder forums and collaborations with civil society and research institutions. Social commitment is reflected in educational and cultural programs, the promotion of digitalization in rural regions, the support of environmental initiatives and financial participation in charitable projects. Our sustainability reports are published annually and reveal progress, challenges and goals.
